Programs

Child Care Health Consultant
Gives technical assistance by registered nurses to all licensed child-care facilities in Richmond County (who provide care for more than 1,600 children) to ensure good health among children birth to age 5. Provides workshops on topics such as sanitation, infectious or contagious diseases, nutrition, emergency preparedness, special health care needs and medication dispensing, facility health and safety policies.

Child Care Professional Development

The Partnership offers help in locating a child care facility suitable for your family. We make unbiased referrals, not recommendations, to licensed child care facilities, based on the family’s preferences and needs. There is no charge for referrals.

Child Care Star Enhancement
Provides technical assistance and financial resources to maintain and improve the quality of child care facilities in Richmond County. These grants allow 4- and 5- star facilities to invest in improving the quality and maintaining their star rating. Programs must meet established eligibility criteria to apply for grants.

Child Care Subsidy
Provides financial assistance for child care so parents can work outside the home. This program allows more children of families who receive TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or CCDF (Child Care Development Fund) to receive child care.

Provides financial assistance for the purchase of care for eligible children in NC Pre-kindergarten sites for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or CCDF (Child Care Development Fund) eligible families.

Quality Enhancement
Designed to assist licensed child care facilities in improving their program and earning a higher star rating. This activity provides technical assistance, workshops and trainings to address identified needs. Reach Out and Read
Partners with medical practices to provide pre-literacy opportunities for children and their parents during well-child visits. Each child receives a new book at visits from 6 months until age 5, for a total of eight books. Click to download a brochure as a pdf.

Resource Lending Library
