Family Support Programs

The Partnership offers programs that target Family Support issues in our county.  The following activities are specifically formulated to enhance the quality of family life in our community:

Parents As Teachers:  This program increases parenting skills and helps to improve knowledge of the developmental needs of young children for school readiness.  PAT Educators work one on one with Parents and Children to identify possible delays and disabilities through home visits, and also work to provide educational learning experiences for the family.

Preschool Transportation:  This activity provides transportation to Even Start classes for families who live outside of the regular school attendance district and would not otherwise be able to get to attend the program.

Language Diversity in Preschoolers:  Richmond County Schools provides early developmental educational experiences and activities for "language diverse" preschoolers.  The focus is on language development and improved social skills for Spanish-speaking and other bilingual students.
