Education

Quality education is the core of Richmond County Partnership for Children’s mission. We envision a community in which all children, regardless of household income, receive the best early education in order to prepare them for kindergarten.

NC Pre-K
Provides financial assistance for the purchase of care for eligible children in NC Pre-kindergarten sites for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) eligible families.

Reach Out and Read
Partners with medical practices to provide pre-literacy opportunities for children and their parents during well-child visits. Each child receives a new book at visits beginning at 6 months until he is 5 years old, for a total of eight books. The books are culturally- and developmentally-appropriate and are available in English and Spanish. Click to download a brochure as a pdf.

Resource Lending Library
Provides a valuable source of educational materials for educators and parents of young children in Richmond County. All of the 3,000 books, play items, art utensils and educational materials are designed for children from birth to age 5 or their teachers, parents or grandparents. Sandhills Children's Center
Provides pre-kindergarten financial assistance to public schools or 4- or 5 star-rated child care facilities for care other than the state NC pre-K program. Dual subsidies are for families who are Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) eligible.
